KATIE BECOMES 1ST KIWI TO WIN ARTIST SIGNAL

Katie Thompson has been carving her pathway within the country music scene in New Zealand, although her sound transcends the singer-songwriter “format”, bleeding into genres as diverse as rock, pop, folk and more.

After reaching the top spot with her single Leave Your Hat On on the audience.co.nz Wildcard Funding Chart thanks to her supporters, fans and friends, Katie kept working hard on spreading the word about her music.

Katie was thrilled to take out the Top Artist prize on Artist Signal in July 2014, winning $10,000 to go towards her music career. Katie’s fanbase, plus other listeners on the site rallied around to vote for her. The Artist Signal competition features incredible artists from all over the world, and Katie is proud to bring the prize home as the first ever winner from New Zealand!
